National marine facilities Chief Scientist meeting

On 18th June, Victor and Natasha attended the National Marine Facilities meeting for Chief Scientists at NERC in Swindon (UK).  A major component of RISeR is the offshore core collection of LIG material from the southern North Sea and this is an important step in securing ship time.  We were accompanied by project partner Carol Cotterill from BGS who is key in assisting RISeR with the offshore logistics, in particular as Natasha has never worked offshore before!  It was a great experience and we learnt about all aspects of planning and running a scientific cruise.  Hopefully we will get notification of ship time soon!
